Trinidad and Tobago National Day  

K.T. Goh has sent in photos of a 1/72 Royal Malaysian Air Force C-130H Air Drop Diorama built by Mr. Johan aka "Brutus", Major Muzzafar (10 Para Brigade) and members of the 10 Para Brigade Air Detachment.  Check it out....it's VERY cool.

Manuel J. Armas S. has built this stunning 1/48 Academy F-14A Interceptor for his girlfriend.  He's included quite a few photos of his F-14.   

Maurizio Bressan is here with his 1/48 Academy CH-46E.   Maurizo did some extra detailing to his CH-46 and he's included photos of this detailing before he glued the fuselage together.  Very nice indeed.   

Rodney Williams joins us with his 1/48 Revell F-86D Sabre Dog.  Rodney always builds the most interesting models and his Sabre Dog  is a great kit built to Rodney's usual high standards.  

David Bey is here with his well done Singapore 1/72 Italeri C-130H.  David did some extra detailing to his C-130 and he's included photos of this detailing during the build process.  David went the extra mile to detail his C-130. 

Jeff Hamel is here with his 1/48 Academy Mig-21MF.  Jeff used a Blackbox cockpit and finished his Mig with a beautifully weathered paint job. 

Aaron Hughes is here with his 1/72 Airfix Lightning F.1A.  Aaron did some delicate weathering and finished his Lightning in markings of the "Firebirds" aerobatic display team using Cutting Edge Decals.  A fine model of this classic British jet.

Paul Hastings joins us with two of his 1/48 Hasegawa Macchi C205.  Paul chose 2 quite different and attractive paint schemes for his Macchi 205 and finished them with some very effective techniques.

Rick Reinbott starts today with his 1/48 Hobbycraft FB11 Sea Fury.  Rick built his as a slightly weathered Bay of Pigs Sea Fury, which is something I've not seen done as a model before.  Good one Rick.  

Billy Goodman is here with a 1/72 Revell Israeli F-16A he built long ago.  Billy's F-16 stands the test of time with all the extra detailing he did on it.  Always good to see these jet models with the extra detailing .    

We arrived home late last night after a busy day visiting family and shopping.  Here's a photo of me with my oldest daughter riding a Fred Flintstone type car.....I'm a car nut....so this photo was a must do sort of thing.  We had an amusing time at this attraction 90 west of Vancouver, BC. 

Le Thanh Tung is here with his 1/32 Trumpeter A-10A.  Tung did some changes to his A-10 such as a Blackbox resin cockpit to improve upon the detail of the very good Trumpeter A-10.  This and a stellar airbrushing job gave him a masterpiece A-10.

Graham Symmonds is here with his dirty 1/35 Academy AH-1W Super Cobra.  I was quite impressed with the outcome of Graham's weathering job.....it looks just like photos of the real chopper.      

Pavel Krejci has dropped by with his 1/48 HiPM MIG-19S.  Pavel chose to finish his MiG in the markings of the Patrik aerobatics team, which is a very unique and pleasing choice.  His bare metal finish has the look of the real aircraft.  

Jesús Alcocer joins us with his 1/72 Fujimi Aichi D3A2 Val.  Jesús also weathered his Val to get that war weary look.......a very convincing model.    

Keith Beraska begins this update in honour of the Ukraine National Day with his eye catching 1/72 Hasegawa MiG-29 "Ukrainian Falcons".   This is one of the jets that was part of the Ukrainian national flight demo team.....painted in the very attractive national colours of blue and gold.

Joe Youngerman is here with another of his beauties.  This is Joe's 1/72 Revell Blohm & Voss BV P-194 in a what-if scheme.  Joe also added some extra detailing to improve the look of his BV P-194.

Cruise Wang is here with his 1/72 Revell F-16A Block 20 done up in Taiwanese markings.  Cruise had to change the kit slightly to get the details correct and make his own markings for some of the decals.....but he got it done and it turned out quite good.

Phil Hastie has been busy building his 1/72 Academy P-47D.  This is one heck of a nice kit and Phil turn it into a very well done model of this famous WW2 fighter. 

Konley Kelley begins today with his 1/72 Academy Memphis Belle B-17F.  Konley has digitally posed his B-17 bomber in the midst of it's mission.  I always get a kick out of Konley's digital creations using his models.  

Denis Belyanin is here with his beautifully done 1/72 Academy F-14A Tomcat.  Denis did a stunning job on his Tomcat.  Enjoy.  

J.C. Bahr is here with his 1/72 Hasegawa Beaufighter Mk.21.  J.C. did some extra detailing on his Beaufighter and then finished it in Australian markings creating his very pleasing model.    

David Shen is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his  1/72 PM Ta183 done up in a very realistic looking paint job.  Welcome to ARC David!!!   

Paul Parkes is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his beautifully done 1/48 Revell / Italeri X-32B that he converted from the X-32A kit.  Paul makes his own marking when needed and he's also included photos of his X-35B in operational markings.  Welcome to ARC Paul.  

Yufei Mao is here with his impressive 1/48 Hasegawa B5N2 Kate.  Yufei has detailed his Kate with photo etch from Eduard and scratch built items for his Pearl Harbor attacker.  The paint job on that one is a sight to behold....enjoy.

Armin Knes has dropped by from Austria with his nicely done 1/48 Revell Convair B-58A.  Armin built this huge model and and finished it in a baremetal finish with different shades of metal to give his B-58A a more realistic finish.      

Eric Bade is here with his 1/72 Eduard Lavoshkin La-7.  Eric did his usual extra detailing on his La-7 and then finished it with a spectacular paint job. 

I have a review of the new 1/72 and 1/48 Italian 'smoke ring' camouflage decals from Mike Grant Decals.  Some have called these the End of the Hobby.......I consider them revolutionarily positive change for the hobby.

Shekar K. Rao is here with his 1/48 Academy Mig-21 MF.  Shekar has painted his MiG-21 in an eye catching camo scheme in honour of the Indian Air force.  

Polly Singh is here with his 1/72 Italeri Bell-47G-2.  Polly has included the history of the Bell 47 in Indian Air Force service to go along with the pictures of his sharp looking Bell 47.   

Murli Rajan joins us with his 1/72 Tamiya Mig-29.  Murli made his own decals and use a Neomega seat to complete his nicely weathered MiG-29.  

Aamod Potdar is here with his 1/48 Academy Sukhoi-30.  This is Aamod's first plastic model kit and I think he is doing very well.   He finished his Su-30 in Indian air Force markings.

Haroon Hamid bigns today's special Pakistan Independence Day update with his  1/48 Academy Mirage IIIRP.  Haroon has provided some interesting history behind his Mirage IIIRP and some of it's wartime it's operational history.  The model and display base came out very well.

Stephen Prior begins today with his 1/48 Tamiya P-51 Mustang III.  Stephen finished his mustang in the markings for a RAF Polish squadron Mustang in those great looking D-Day stripes. 

KEi is here with his 1/48 Italeri F/A-18E.  KEi replaced the kit cockpit with one from Blackbox and used decals from Twobobs to finished off his Italeri model.  

Meesha begins today with his 1/48 Academy MiG21-PF.  Meesha did a huge amount of work detailing and modifying his MiG-21 and you'll see his excellent work when you read his article and look at his photos.  

Frederic Pierre is here with his  1/48 Tamiya P-51D Mustang.  This Mustang really stands out and looks perfect.  Frederic includes history about this famous P-51 as well as things he did when building his Mustang.   

John McCormick has dropped by with his 1/32 Hasegawa OA-4M.  John did a fair bit of extra detailling to his Shyhawk to improve the cockpit and other areas of his A-4.  then he finished it off with a beautifully done paint job. 

Max Tollens Jr. is here with his 1/35 MRC AH-1W Super Cobra.  Max built his Super Cobra as a Desert Storm chopper with extra engine detailing as well as some cockpit detailing.

Loïc Lemarchand begins today with his 1/48 Hasegawa Hurricane MkI.  Loïc built his Hurricane in the markings for Douglas Bader's aircraft and he even included a Douglas Bader figure in his diorama.    

Pascal Coupienne is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Hasegawa Crusader F8-E.  Pascal did a variety of things to his Crusader to improve the basic detail level of this kit.  The finished model came out looking very well with his weathering job.

Armin Knes has dropped by today with his 1/32 Revell He 162 A-2.  Armin has done a fine job on his He-162 and displayed it on a very realistic diorama base.  The open engine cowlings help to show off the beautiful detail on Armin's He-162.   

Rick Reinbott joins us with his 1/48 Tamiya A6M2 Zero.  Rick has done much extra work to improve upon the smaller details of this kit.  These differences are talked about in his article and he even mentions a lucky accident that happened during the building process. 

Christian Curec is here with his 1/48 Revell Helmut Wick’s Me-109 E4/7.  Christian was very busy adding detail to his 109 and finished it off with a very complicated camo pattern.  A beautifully done 109.

Galo Perez  is here with his 1/72 Italeri K-FIR CE.  Galo did quite a bit of extra work to make his Ecuadorian K-fir more accurate.  His finished model captures the look of the Ecuadorian K-fir very well.  

Juan Montesinos is here with his 1/48 Monogram A37 Dragon Fly.  Juan added RBF tags to his Dragonfly as well as panelline shading and other special touches to detail his Ecuadorian beauty.  

Fernando Jimenez C. is here with his well done 1/72  Hasegawa Mirage F1 JA.  Fernando has done some scratch building on his Mirage's weapons to get the correct weapons load.

Juan Montesinos finishes up with his 1/72 Italeri K-Fir.  This is one of the aircraft used in the Cenepa's war with Peru.  A good looking model on this famous Ecuadorian jet.

Leslie Choy has dropped by with his Singapore 1/48 Hasegawa A 4SU Skyhawk.  This particular model is an aircraft that flew with the Singapore "Black Knight" aerobatic team.  Leslie made changes to kit parts to get his attractive A-4 to be more accurate for a Singapore A-4.  

Lee Chee Hwa is here to further support Singapore today with his 1/48 Hasegawa AH-64D.  Chee Hwa built this Apache a few years back and it's good to see it on this special day for Singapore.  

Leslie Choy has been busy getting ready for this Singapore update 1/48 Aeroclub Strikemaster.  Leslie did quite a bit of work on his Strikemaster trainer to improve the details and accuracy.  The finished model looks very good. 

Lee Chee Hwa is also here with his second model for this special update for Singapore with his 1/72 Fujimi E-2C.  This is an attractive model in Singapore markings.  Nice one Chee Hwa.

Justin Davenport is here with his 1/144 Airfix Space Shuttle done up in Discovery markings.  Justin shares our happiness at the expected safe return of Discovery after her special mission in orbit and the return of a shuttle to space.  Thanks Justin.

Melanie Koppelaar is here with her first article on ARC.  This is her 1/72 Academy F4U- 1 Corsair which is also her first model aircraft.  Her Dad Henk has good reason to be proud of her.....she builds excellent models. 

Guy King has dropped by with his very unique one-of  1/72 Revell B-17F Aphrodite Drone Conversion from WW2.  Guy has provided a full history in his article of this unique B-17 done up beautifully to replicate this pilot-less drone.

  60th Anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing 

David Chong is here to mark the 60th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing with his 1/72 Academy B-29 'Enola Gay'.  David used a variety of techniques to bring out the detail in his historical B-29.  Thanks for sending it in David. 

Jeremy Neo is here with one of the WW2 fighters that was used to defend the Japanese Home Islands from the Allied bombers.  This is his 1/48 Otaki Hien Ki-61 done up with quite the complicated camo job.

I have a review of the new 1/48 and 1/72 BAe/Sepecat Jaguar GR1/1A Royal Air Force  Part 1 decal sheet from Model Alliance Group.  This sheet features 9 different RAF Jaguars including a winter camo scheme.

My 9 year old now can now ride a 2 wheeler bike.  We did our usual practicing this morning and then she asked for the pedals to be installed on her bike and after a few tries....she rode unassisted for about 10 feet......a successful milestone.  This has got to be one of the trickier jobs for a Dad during these early years.  I feel pretty good about it.

Jojo B Cruz begins today with his weathered 1/72 Academy F-14 Tomcat.  Jojo brushed painted his F-14 and I must admit I wish I could brush paint a model to look so well. 

Jeff Brundt is here with his 1/32 Hasegawa Fw-190A-8.  Jeff has provided some historical background on this Luftwaffe interceptor as well as insight about building this particular model kit.  Excellent results on your Fw-190 Jeff.

Bernd Korte has been busy building his 1/72 Italeri C-119G/L "Flying Boxcar".  Berdd did an outstanding amount of work to rescribe and detail his C-119 and it shows when you read his article and enjoy the in-progress photos as well as the finished photos of this wonder.

Dan Duna is here with another of his creations.  This is Dan's  1/72 unnamed Junkers jet bomber.  I'm a big fan of Dan's less than common model and this one is another gem of his creative genius mind at work.

I have a review of the new 1/32 RAAF 20 years Hornet decal sheet from Model Alliance Group.  This much talked about Aussie jet is a RAAF F/A-18A Hornet in 20th Anniversary scheme during the 2005 airshow season.

Yesterday's day trip with my 9 year old daughter went very well.....we attended a car show 2 hours from our city.....600 cars entered including a 1917 Ford Model T to expensive custom hot rods to new Porsches.....we both had a grand time.

The bike riding lessons continued this morning.....I've removed the pedals from their bikes and both of my daughters are propelling themselves with their feet as they gain balance and confidence.  So far so good.  

Jeff Brundt begins today with his 1/48 Tamiya A6M2 Zero.  Jeff his Zero out of the box, but that didn't stop him from turning out one great looking model.  He's provided some history about this older Tamiya kit and about building it.

Lee Chee Hwa is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-16D Brakeet.  Chee Hwa built his Israeli F-16 out of the box, but that still gave him one heck of an attractive looking jet.  These Israeli jets look fantastic in their camo.

Hal Marshman (who I had the deep pleasure to meet at the US Nationals in Atlanta) is here with his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair.  Hal did quite a bit of effort and modifications to his Corsair and as you'll see by the paint job....Hal has things figured out very well. 

Ilan Askapa is here with his  1/48 Heller OH-58B Bell 206B (Syphan).  This is an Israeli chopper that is finished with decals from IsraDecal.  Another sharp looking Israeli aircraft in desert camo.

Ken Middleton is here with Part 2 of his US Nationals 2005 model photos.  Today Ken includes 60 photos including  a pic of the 1/48 Monogram F-4 built by Cyrus Tan.....this one had to be seen to be believed.  Cyrus put in an incredible effort to update this good but older kit.
