The NeOmega 1/48th Sea Harrier cockpit set is a very nice resin set that will replace an awful cockpit in the Tamyia Sea Harrier FRS.1 kit.

This is my first Resin Cockpit set (I am new to the hobby) and I sure picked a nice one for my first one. The set was designed to fit into the Airfix kit, but fits just fine into the kit I am building. The only problem I have with my set is the rear canopy rails, (the thing the canopy slides back on) is missing. I think this might have just been mine and I easily scracht built it anyways.

I found the detail to be accurate and very crisp for such a small instrument panel. After air-brushing the panel grey, I tried an interesting but simple technique to give detail to each instrument. I cut (very carefully) each instrument from the kit decal, and then wet them (hold onto with tweezers) and put into each hole. I only messed up one of the small ones (painted a little black and white in instead) and all and all it looks very
nice when done.

The side counsels in the tub are brought out with a little careful painting and dry-brushing. There is a very nice rear bulkhead but sadly it will never be seen when the ejection seat is put in place. The sides of the cockpit with canopy rails did not fit perfectly (probably because it is not the Airfix kit) but with a little shaving of the plastic fit fine. The only other fit problem I found, was that it ended up being slightly crooked (again I think because it is not the Airfix kit) when glued to the rear bulkhead. It may have also been my mistake when glueing the cockpit rear to the tub. After I glued the windscreen on, it hide it and straightened the front out (it was only a minor gap). The ejection seat machts the excellence of the rest of the set and painted up very nice. The only thing not included is a Hud (but the base is there) and it is easily scrachtbuilt with plastic strip and thin plastic film.

All together a very easy and very nice looking addition to any Sea Harrier kit, I highly recommend it!
