1/32 F/A-18C VFA-22 Redcocks decal sheet

The first F-18 on this sheet is # 164060.  This plane is a CAG bird with all the colorful CAG bird markings.  The markings include blue and white vertical stab stripes and well as a big red fighting Redcock in full attack mode on the outside of both vertical stab.  The jet intake warnings are also in red to match the fighting Redcock on the vertical stabs.  There is a dark blue diagonal stripe with stars on the side of the fuselage.  There is also a tiny nose art featuring a running Iraqi soldier with a smart bomb directly above his head.  Beside this is a small number of mission markings.  A very colorful bird indeed and even includes the decals for the text "FIGHTING REDCOCKs" on the centerline fuel tank.

The second plane is aa F-18C # 164034 from the fighting Redcocks from the USS Carl Vinson.  This jet is a dirty Navy bird in lo-viz markings.  The paint job on this plane is quite the subtle patchwork quilt that USN jets are famous for.  Markings on this plane are similar to the CAG bird mentions above....except for lack of colour.  This is a CO and features a HUGE number of mission markings...this was one busy jet.  It also features the noseart of the running Iraqi soldier with a smart bomb directly above his head. 

The instruction sheets provide paint # for 4 different brands of paint as well as the FS#.  Full side views plus top and bottom views are provided on the instruction sheets.  Jose "Fuji" Ramos deserves much credit for tracking down reference photos for this decal sheet. 

The decals come on two decal sheets and are beautifully printed on my sample.  Some decals are broken into two layers to provide the highest quality and perfect register.  

There are enough decals provided to do 2 complete jets....with the exception of the formation light decals.

This sheet will be available the first week of July 2003.  This sheet is highly recommended for your 1/32 Academy F-18.
