This is a new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  The sheet includes markings for 6 different Corsairs in 1/48 scale.

The first plane is a F4U-1A flown by the famous Ace Maj. Greg Boyington of VMF-214 in Nov 1943.  The BuNo. is 18086.  The paint scheme of this plane is standard two tone blue on top and white on the underside.  This plane has many kill markings....20 in all.  Beside the kill markings is the handwritten script saying Lucybelle beside the kill markings.  The name Lulubelle is also included on the decal sheet due to some slight questions as to what name was actually painted on this plane.

The second plane is a F4U-1A flown by 1st Lt. Bob McClurg and Maj. Greg Boyington of VMF-214 in Dec 1943.  The BuNo. is 17883.  The paint scheme of this plane is standard two tone blue on top and white on the underside.  This plane has 5 kill markings with the name Martha written above the kill markings.

The third plane is a F4U-1A flown by famous Ace Maj. Greg Boyington of VMF-214 in Jan 1944.  The BuNo. is 17915.  The paint scheme of this plane is standard two tone blue on top and white on the underside.  This plane has no kill markings and was lost on Boyington's last mission.

The fourth plane is a F4U-1A flown by famous Ace Maj. Greg Boyington of VMF-214 in Dec 1943.  The BuNo. is 17740.  The paint scheme of this plane is standard two tone blue on top and white on the underside.  This plane was used for a group photo with squadron members standing on the wings.

The fifth plane is a F4U-1A flown by famous Ace Maj. Greg Boyington of VMF-222 in Mar 1945 out of Samar, Philippine Islands.  The BuNo. is 13993.  The paint scheme of this plane is standard two tone blue on top and white on the underside.  This plane has some nose art on the engine cowl honoring the USMC SeaBees.

The sixth plane is a F4U-1A  VMF-122.  The paint scheme of this plane is Glossy Sea Blue on top and bottom and has a big playing card of the Ace of Hearts on both sides of the engine cowl.

The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which is always good to see.

There instructions are clear and an extra page of text instruction is included with info on each plane's markings.

A very nice product and highly recommended.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
