I’ve bought quite a few Verlinden products since I've been modeling. They all tend to be ejection seats. I have purchased the F-16 Update set and marveled at it's complexity. So when I bought this set I thought it would look equally as complicated and far too advanced for me. I was pleasantly surprised.

This kit is an absolute joy for any 1/72 Tomcat modeler. Designed to plug straight into any Hasegawa Atlantic Fleet Squadrons F-14 kit (NOT the Low Vis and High Vis F-14's they also market), it offers some nice resin pieces and PE to make your F-14 cockpit tub something pretty special.

Consisting of 14 resin pieces and some PE parts, it offers some nice detail including a ladder, cannon bay, ammo bay, cockpit tub, seats, oxygen tank panel, instrument shrouds and more. The ejection seats are very nicely done for such a small scale and the level of detail apparent in the tub is also quite pleasing.

The resin is all nicely cast and although it has some flash. The PE is always a Verlinden low point. Eduard make much better PE products, but Verlinden's does the job required. It contains the ladder, some new steps for the pilot to enter the cockpit and canopy details.

The tub itself is nicely molded and is designed to fit directly into the Cat replacing the tub you would insert if you glued all the Hasegawa pieces together. The RIO screens are molded into the plastic in the rear, but extra resin pieces provide the cockpit for the pilot.
