Hello, this is my first submission
to ARC. I had a 3 years break from modeling when I moved overseas with work.
So this is my first completed kit in a while. Hope you find it interesting.
In late 2005, Boeing
F-15T (designation during bidding) was announced winner for Singapore
Next Fighter Replacement Program. It is now designated F-15SG (SG for
Singapore).
The model is modified from Tamiya
1/32 F-15E early release. I added
Cutting Edge
F-15I conversion and
Tekniks GE F110 engine nozzle for the Hasegawa F-16 kit. Other resin add-on include an
ACEII seat for the front cockpit and AIM-120C ARAAM both from Cutting Edge.
Decals are combination of Republic of
Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-5S from Siam
Scale and the original kit.
There is a bit of work on the resin seat
because it doesn't have details on the rails and braces at the back. Some
0.2mm plastic-card are added to detail. I also modified the original AN/AAQ-14
Targeting pod to Tiger Eyes standard. But Republic of Singapore Air Force is
expected to get Sniper XR pod.

This model is armed with 2xAIM-9L
Sidewinder and 2xGBU-10 Paveway II (from
kit), 2xAIM-120C ARAAM (resin) and 2xGBU-31 JDAM (from Tamiya F-16CJ kit). There
is a center-lined fuel drop tank from the kit although I would like to load
up 2 drop tanks under the wings. To make the most accurate F-15SG is quite a
challenge at this moment because the configurations are still changing, so is
the technology and planning. I used some element of creativity when it
comes to the anticipated colour scheme and markings.
3-tone Southeast Asia camo scheme is
chosen to depict the Fighter Replacement program for the retired A-4SU
Super Skyhawk. It is more interesting than standard F-15E grey tone. There is a
"little" creativity on the markings to reflect a
transitional Peace program with TAC wing. The squadron picked is 149Sq Shikra
that flew the F-5S.
Best wishes to all Singaporean at
home and overseas. For those at home, enjoy the fly past for me. Happy
National Day.
