Hi everyone.
This is my model of the Kawanishi N1K1 Shiden from the excellent 1/72
Tamiya kit.
The Shiden is relatively little well known, but whose performances made it deserving of being
considered as a hard opponent for American pilots during the last part in the
Pacific War.
As I referred to before, this is a superb kit, being only necessary
to add a few additions like pilotīs
seat belts, the radio wire and hydraulic lines for landing gear wheels.

For
painting I used Vallejoīs Model Color acrylic paints for interiors, Gunze Sangyo for
upper surfaces and Tamiya for inferior ones. I weathered the model
scattering dampened salt small grains on those areas of the airplane that
degraded more. Once it was dry, I sprayed IJA Green and after 1
hour the salt was removed. I think the result is convincing, donīt you?.
I used artistīs oils and pastel chalks as final work. The antenna
wire is done with nylon 0.2 mm thread.
