This dive bomber replaced the famous Dauntless during the later stage of the pacific campaign.  I decided to paint this model in the VB3 squadron colors and markings from the USS Yorktown during the Japanese island bombing missions.....Okinawa onwards.

I used Gunze navy blue H54 “non specular sea blue”, intermediate blue and flat white.....no weathering was applied.

This kit comes along with a PE basic set which includes the dive brakes and I added an Eduard zoom set.  The squadron markings are painted.  The decals are out of the box..

I had to apply a lot of putty along the wing root and fuselage and other than that the build was very good.  The wing bombs were from a Tamiya kit.  The antenna wiring is stretched sprue.
