RSAF
E-2C Hawkeye (111 Squadron)
Hi Everyone,
Greetings from tropical Singapore - and also the world's most heavily defended airspace!!
Here is my submission of a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) E-2C Hawkeye constructed from a 1:72 Fujimi Japan kit. FYI, the E-2C has been withdrawn from active service with the RSAF since 2008 and has served since it was operational since 1987 and being replaced by the state of the art Bombardier G550 AEW aircraft. The kit is of moderate quality, and quite detailed and when constructed, gives an accurate scale replica of the E-2C. I had to put in extra effort to create the RSAF decals and the 111 Squadron markings, which I scanned from old photos taken during Air Force Open houses back in 2006. These scanned images are edited with photo editing software and printed on high quality decal paper, which the decals went on smoothly when applied. Lots of draft printing were done to ensure the correct sizes of the decals were accomplished to a 72nd scale model prior to printing on high quality decal paper. Modelling of the antenna aerial lines were made with very fine fishing line super glued to the kit's antennas.
Spray painting of the kit was made by easier thanks to my trusty Badger 150 Airbrush and with help from paper cards cut with the wavy camouflage patterns that separate the two light and dark greys. Quite a
fair amount of time was also consumed by painting the black anti-glare panels and anti-icing panels on the wings and tail.

Hope you enjoy my artwork and the pics!
Best Regards,
David C S Teo
