History
The Douglas DC-3/C-47 Skytrain was the most popular transport airplane in the world in the civil and military area. During World War Two, it was manufactured under licence in USSR, like Lisunov Li-2 ("Cab" in NATO) and in Japan as Showa/Nakajima L2D ("Tabby"/"Tess" in allied forces). In FAB (Brazilian Air Force), 82 planes were used from 1.944 to 83. One was used experimentally as attack (AC-47) in 73. Some planes were used for VIP's (VC-47) and electronic work as the EC-47.

The model:
The Italeri AC-47 kit is great quality. Onlyproblem area is the cowling in two halves. One modification I made was I divided the load door in two halves and I glued them open. I chamfered the wheels to give weight idea.

Painting:
I did them in the two main painting configurations in FAB. The first was totally in Natural aluminum, having only the rudder painted Green (FS 24062)/ Yellow (FS 23538) and Black (FS 37038) in small areas. The paint scheme that was more time consuming was White (FS 17925) in the upper part and a strip of black in the area of the windows. This painting this nicknamed in FAB of "skirt and blouse". The planes in VIP services had strip along the windows in Blue (FS 15200).
