Here's Italeri's 1/72 scale
F-18. I used the 1/72 Leading Edge Models decal sheet depicting the R.C.A.F.
-75th Anniversary CF-18A from 410 Cougar Squadron. For the blue, I followed
the advice on the decal sheet and used a 1 to 1 mix of Testers 1111 Blue and
1143 Blue (7ml bottles). Unfortunately I do not recall how much
"tweaking" (if any) I had to do after that to get a match. The
instruction sheet also suggests that a good match would be the Tamiya color
acrylic X-4 Blue.

I used
Future on the canopy. I also use Future as a final coat before
decal application. After the Future had dried I masked off the canopy using the
Testers Parafilm (masks well but doesn't have the tendency to lift off paint
that masking tape has.) I've even used the Parafilm to mask over decals - one
has to be careful, but it can be done.

I then oversprayed the
entire model with a 50-50 mix of Poly S flat and gloss clear. Carefully peeling
off the parafilm resulted in the canopy you see. Even though the decal
sheet was a little on the pricey side, the quality is such that now that
I've finished the model, I am glad I spent the money because it makes into a
very attractive model. He (Leading Edge) makes a good product and in this case,
one does get what one pays for.
